Great for making relatively complex parts, mainly in aluminum. For example one LBE customer asked us to produce the aluminum housing for a weatherproof outdoor WiFi modem, complete with integrated threaded screw mounting lugs on the inside of the housing and an integrated heatsink on the outside.
It’s more expensive to create the tooling for diecast parts than for lost wax, but parts can be made to higher precision and the molds maintain their accuracy over larger production runs.
